|
Q: When does my child get their gear?

A: You can complete an application online HERE. All applications are carefully reviewed and considered. Final decisions are determined by the NNYFL Board.

Q: Why does my child require a physical?
A: A sports physical will determine whether it is safe for your child to participate in sports. Every athlete whether in Football or Cheerleading must meet the minimum requirements by a licensed physician to participate in youth sports. NNYFL will provide the needed documentation to be filled out by a Licensed Physician. Additionally, with the ever increasing rate to insure participants, this is now a requirement.

Q: How do you teach and determine where he/she is going to play on a team?
A: Your child will be assessed in several different areas of performance. Speed, Agility, Tackling, Blocking, Throwing, Kicking, etc. When this is completed, the Coaching staff will place players in different positions to determine how to best make up the team. Always reminding players that each and every position is extremely important.

Q: My child has never played Football. Do they have to have prior experience to play?
A: No, they do not have to have prior experience to play. Our coaching staff teaches the fundamentals of football. We teach the different positions of a football team and the importance of each position.

Q: I already have Medical insurance for my Son/Daughter, why do I need to have additional insurance?
A: NNYFL insures every participant whether already insured or not. The insurance provided is not "Medical Insurance." It is "Secondary Injury Insurance." In the event that your child is already insured, the insurance provided by the NNYFL becomes secondary injury insurance. If an injury does occur, your primary insurance will be billed first.
